SHIPPING POLICY

Last updated: July 27, 2026

Crownforge Iron Inc. ships handcrafted iron doors, gates, railings, fireplace doors, security products, and custom ironwork throughout the United States. Many products are made to order and require freight transportation due to their size and weight.

ORDER PROCESSING AND FABRICATION

Processing and fabrication times vary by product, size, finish, customization, and current production demand. Any production or delivery estimate is an estimate and is not a guaranteed completion or arrival date.

Customers will receive shipping or delivery information when their order is ready to leave our facility.

SHIPPING CHARGES

Shipping charges are calculated at checkout, included in a custom estimate, or provided separately before shipment. Oversized products, remote destinations, limited-access locations, liftgate service, redelivery, storage, and other special freight services may result in additional charges.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address, telephone number, and delivery information.

FREIGHT DELIVERIES

Large iron doors, driveway gates, railings, and other oversized products are generally shipped by freight carrier on a pallet or protective shipping frame.

The freight carrier may contact the customer to schedule a delivery appointment. The customer or an authorized adult must be available to receive and inspect the shipment.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, freight delivery does not include installation, unpacking, movement inside the property, removal of packaging, or specialized equipment required to unload an oversized shipment.

SHIPPING INSURANCE

Every Crownforge Iron shipment is insured against qualifying shipping damage or loss, subject to the carrier’s and insurance provider’s terms, exclusions, documentation requirements, and final claim determination.

Insurance does not eliminate the customer’s responsibility to inspect the shipment and document its condition at delivery. Photographs, videos, packaging, the delivery receipt, and other documentation may be required to process a claim.

INSPECT BEFORE SIGNING

Before signing the delivery receipt:

  1. Inspect the pallet, protective frame, plastic wrapping, straps, packaging, and visible portions of the product.

  2. Take clear photographs of the complete shipment from every side while it is still on the delivery vehicle or in the delivery area.

  3. Do not cut or remove the metal or plastic securing straps before completing your initial inspection.

  4. Carefully remove or pull back only enough exterior plastic wrapping to inspect the product without releasing it from the pallet or shipping frame.

  5. Check for bending, broken welds, cracked glass, deep scratches, crushed sections, missing components, or other significant damage.

  6. Do not sign a delivery receipt stating that the shipment was received in good condition unless you have inspected it.

SIGNIFICANT VISIBLE DAMAGE

If the shipment has significant visible damage:

• Do not accept the shipment.
• Do not sign for it as being in good condition.
• Write “REFUSED — DAMAGED” on the delivery receipt.
• Take clear photographs and video of the damage, packaging, pallet, straps, labels, and complete shipment.
• Ask the driver to return the shipment with the carrier.
• Contact Crownforge Iron immediately at info@crownforgeironinc.com or 661-672-7400.

Refusing a significantly damaged shipment while it remains secured and under the carrier’s control generally makes the return and insurance-claim process faster and easier.

MINOR OR POSSIBLE DAMAGE

If damage appears minor and you choose to accept the shipment, describe the damage specifically on the delivery receipt before signing. Do not write only “subject to inspection.”

Take photographs and videos before moving, unpacking, installing, modifying, or disposing of any packaging.

CONCEALED DAMAGE

If damage is discovered after delivery:

• Stop unpacking and do not install or modify the product.
• Preserve all packaging, straps, labels, pallets, and shipping materials.
• Photograph and record the product, damage, packaging, and shipping labels.
• Contact Crownforge Iron immediately.

A clean delivery receipt may affect the carrier’s or insurer’s ability to approve a concealed-damage claim, so careful inspection before signing is extremely important.

REPORTING SHIPPING DAMAGE

To report shipping damage, email info@crownforgeironinc.com and include:

• Customer name and order number
• Delivery date
• Description of the damage
• Photographs of the complete shipment
• Close-up photographs and video of each damaged area
• Photographs of the pallet, straps, wrapping, labels, and packaging
• A copy or photograph of the delivery receipt
• Confirmation of whether the shipment was accepted or refused

Crownforge Iron will submit or assist with the applicable freight or insurance claim. Customers must preserve the product and packaging and reasonably cooperate with requests for additional documentation or inspection.

CLAIM RESOLUTION

Depending on the circumstances and the carrier’s or insurer’s determination, an approved shipping-damage claim may be resolved through repair, replacement parts, replacement, or another appropriate remedy.

Crownforge Iron cannot guarantee a carrier’s or insurer’s claim decision, but we will provide the available documentation and work in good faith to reach an appropriate resolution.

MISSED DELIVERIES AND REDELIVERY

Customers are responsible for being available for scheduled freight deliveries. Carrier charges for missed appointments, redelivery, address corrections, storage, or refused shipments unrelated to verified damage may be charged to the customer.

ORDER AND ADDRESS CHANGES

Contact us immediately if a shipping address or delivery detail needs to be changed. Address changes may not be possible after an order has shipped and may result in additional carrier fees.
